Why should my students participate in the college auditions?

We will have colleges and universities from all over the state of Tennessee at the auditions this year. The colleges will see all of the auditions in the first round and have the ability to invite students to a special College Meet & Greet during the Saturday evening dinner hour / break. These colleges and universities will specifically be looking at JUNIORS as their scholarship auditions for seniors have typically passed before our conference. This is a great opportunity for your JUNIORS to get their faces in front of schools that will be able to couple the Tennessee Promise & HOPE scholarships with school & departmental scholarships at the BEGINNING of their recruitment process for the 2019-2020 school year! (Not to mention the advantage of having feedback on their audition pieces from college and university faculty who have the perspective of the audience their audience for future college auditions.)

My school does not have a Thespian Troupe. May I attend the conference as an independent student?

Due to insurance & liability issues only students who are members of an active troupe may attend the conference. If your school does not have a troupe encourage your teacher to contact cindy@tnthescon.com or mark@tnthescon.com to help them get started! We are happy to help new troupes navigate the charter process!
